Ms. Ruby Jean Harmon Accetta, 72, of Laurel Creek Road, Sugar Grove, died Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2008 at Mission St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville.
She was born Nov. 26, 1935 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Garnett and Maude Mast Harmon.
Ms. Accetta was a Licensed Practical Nurse, and was retired from Cannon Memorial Hospital. She attended Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Trivette and husband, Marvin, of Banner Elk; one son, Mike Accetta and wife, Jenny, of West Jefferson; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Brandon Trivette of Banner Elk, Jennifer Dugger and Daniel Accetta of Butler, Tenn., and Opal Accetta of West Jefferson; three sisters, Addie H. Maynard of Jamestown, N.C., Mary Lee Combs and Georgia Ward, both of Sugar Grove; one brother, Bill Harmon and wife, Marie, of Vilas; one niece, Nancy Mixon and husband, Clark; and two nephews, Chris Harmon and Tommy Combs; and one great-nephew, Garrett Mixon and wife, Meghan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Accetta; and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Maynard and Glen Ward.
Services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. David Testerman and the Rev. Mike Townsend. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Lewis Rathbun Center, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, N.C. 28803-2426.
