Venson Whitaker, 85, of Hallie passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at his residence. Venson was the son of the late Boyd and Martha Watts Whitaker. Surviving are his wife: Ora Watts Whitaker; 4 sons: Manuel Dean Whitaker of Jeremiah, Denzil Whitaker of Leatherwood, Venon Whitaker of Ulvah, and Ricky Whitaker of Hallie; 4 daughters: Grethel "Dosh" Fields of Hallie, Freda Combs of Carcassone, Gertrude Maggard of Cowan, and Mary Janet Collins of Isom; 1 brother: Virgil Whitaker of Hallie; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the Cedar Grove Old Regular Baptist Church with old regular baptist ministers officiating. Visitation: 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the Cedar Grove Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery at Ulvah, Kentucky.
