He was born March 7, 1896 in Ross County to William and Ella Barnhart Darling. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jessie Steele, in 1983.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jose (Ruth) Deluna, Obetz; Mrs. Alice Bailey, San Francisco; and Mrs. Virginia Frye, Columbus; and three sons, Albert and Arthur Darling, both of Chillicothe; and Clarence Darling, Columbus; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Darling was a World War I veteran.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fawcett Oliver and Glass Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Three Locks Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
