~ Thelma Bayless Obituary ~

Former Longview resident Thelma Irene Bayless, 86, passed away Sept. 3, 2008, at Farmington Square Senior Living in Beaverton. She resided in Portland with her daughters for the last 25 years. She was born Jan, 15, 1922, in Yakima, to Harry M. and Lottie F. (Emmons) Edmondson. She graduated from Naches High School.

Thelma married Elton Bayless. He preceded her in death March 24, 1979.

Thelma was a grocery store clerk, locally at the Upside Down Market and Chuck's Market for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren's events and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Patti Bayless; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl Roberts, and Cindy and Bob Shuster; a brother, Paul Edmondson; her grandchildren, Matthew Shuster, Carrie and West Ehlers and their son, Avery, Erin and Dougal Reeves, Joe and Alice Bayless and their son, Brock; K.C. Lewis and Mike and Michelle Lewis and their son, Cade; her special friend, Deri Moore; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert William Shuster.

A private family graveside service will be held at Longview Memorial Park.

Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory is charge of arrangements.
