To Our Beloved Victor and Abbey: Your innocence will forever be remembered and cherished through the memories of two kids who gave love above their own needs. The quiet, soft spoken girl complimented by the outgoing, fun loving boy. They were the brightness of the future that now forever shine as lights in the sky. Like a shell to a turtle, a flipper to a penguin, Copper to Tod, the two peas in a pod, our little Victor and Abbey going hand in hand to God.

Victor and Abbey Alanis, 13 and 12, were taken from us unexpectedly in the same disaster that took their mother on July 11, 2009. Victor was born September 11, 1996 in Ogden, Utah and Abbey was born July 3, 1997 to Victor Alanis and Evelia Jacqueline Leavey.

Victor and Abbey attended elementary schools in Ogden, Utah; Pasadena, Texas and Wendover, Utah.

Victor enjoyed playing video games, watching television and playing soccer, while Abbey enjoyed cats, playing soccer, but most of all reading.

They are survived by their grandparents: Reina Rivera and Antonio Ortiz; their father, Victor Alanis, Sr.; their Aunt Rosa Rivera; and many relatives.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park, Utah with Father Sandoval officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to services Tuesday and Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan with the Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com

Contributions may be made to the Alanis-Leavey Family Fund at Wells Fargo Bank to assist the family with expenses.
