James King died on Sunday evening at his residence near the new cemetery in the sixty-fourth year of his ago. Mr. King had been in failing health for the past four years, He served in the war for the Union and was a member of Columbus Golden Post, G. A. R., under whose auspices he was buried. The funeral services occurred at the residence on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. Cyrus Rose officiating. Mr. King was an honest, respectable citizen. -Athens Messenger February 14, 1895.
