Gertrudis was born to Erasmo Salinas and Magdalena Contreras Salinas (Later married Jose Garza). She died after being bathe and laid down for a nap. Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) was the cause of her unexpected death at three years of age. Gertrudis was a healthy little girl.

Gertrudis Salinas is half sister to Florence Garza Nieto and Leona Garza Castillo of Rockdale.

NOTE: San Antonio "Big Lump" Cemetery was established on land deeded by the International & Great Northern Railroad for burial of workers and their families. These graves are over a hundred years old and some have their markers missing. Cemetery boundaries are as established by the deed recorded at Milam County Courthouse.
