Thank you much for posting the memorials of my great great grandfather William Lindley (#40025924)and great great grandmother Mary Jane Hostetter Lindley(#40025937).
William(parents Samual Washington Lindley and Mary Elizabeth Hall Whitley) was born 29 Sept 1817 in Whitley Point,Moultrie Co.,Ill.He died 7 December 1870 in Planterville,Grimes Co.,Texas.
Martha Jane Hostetter (parents John Jack Hosyetter and Hannah Donovan) was born abt 1825 in Pike Co.,Missouri.She died 7 Feb 1878 in Grimes Co.,TX.
William and Martha's daughter (my great grandmother)was;
Mahala Ann Lindley Kelley(1846-1927) who is buried in the Oakland Cemetery,Navasota,Grimes Co.,Texas,memorial#15552339.Malhala's husband my grandfather was;
Bejamin Franklin Kelley (1843-1914).Ben and other young men from Grimes county made up Company G 4TH Texas Regiment(later to be part of Hood's Texas Brigade).I found Ben listed as buried in the Confederate Veterans Oakland-Navasota Cemetery(GM001).

William was the 2nd son born to Samuel and Mary Elizabeth Hall Lindley in Danville IL. Samuel and Mary had 10 children. They came to Texas in 1833 to secure a Mexican Headright of land in the Greene Dewitt Colony. Mexican land Grant records and Republic of Texas records actually indicate they originally settled in Montgomery and Grimes County William Lindley married Martha Jane Hostetter in 1839 in Montgomery County, TX. She was the daughter of John Hostetter and Hannah Donley Hostetter who were also settlers in Montgomery and Grimes County.

William and Maratha Jane moved to Grimes county in 1854, 5 miles north of Anderson, and built a log cabin. They brought with them 9 children. Mack Lewis was born in this cabin. Their children: Hannah Caroline (married Jesse Clothier McIntyre), John Wood (married first: Florence Field, second: Anne Morse and third: Cynthia Edna Goodnight), Rachel (married Emory Erastus Sandel), Mahala Ann (married Benjamin Franklin Kelley), Frank (married Mary Whiting), Sam (married Cecilia Whiting), Martha Elizabeth (Married William C. Gates), Isaac Richmond (married Thomas Ella Gulledge), Evaline (married Allen Vercher) and Mack Lewis (married first: Virginia Sandel, second: Sallie Kennard and third: Mae Anderson)
