Mrs. W. Gilbert Edge obituary:
Laura Thomas Edge of Whitford, 79, wife of the late W. Gilbert Edge, died yesterday at Friends Hall, West Chester, following a short illness.
She was born in Whitford, the daughter of the late Charles T. and Isabel Gibbons Thomas. She resided in Whitford until 1965 when she moved to the Hickman Home, West Chester.
Mrs. Edge was a birthright member of the Downingtown Friends Meeting and was active in many community affairs for many years. She had done volunteer work in the records room of the Chester County Hospital and was also active in the Cancer Society.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara E., wife of the late Dr. Bingley L. Burdick of Whitford and Dorothy E., wife of Karl D. Hagerstrand, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. William R. Maull of Chillicothe, Ohio, six grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
She died of liver cancer.
