B. F. Davis, 61, Dies al Wasson; Funeral Monday B. F, Davis, 61, storekeeper at
Wasson for 35 years and at Eldorado, for the last 15 years; was dead this morning, when his relatives went to call him for breakfast.
The family lives at Wasson and Mr. Davis had been under the care of doctors for several
months, due to, diabetes and heart trouble. Last night at 11 o'clock, he had an attack, from which he seemed to have recovered and to be sleeping when the remainder of the family went to bed.
His wife, the former Muriel Elder, died in 1937. Their nine children who survive are: Mrs.
Vivian Barton, Eldorado; Mrs. Velma Garrett, Norris City; B. F. Davis Jr., Wasson; Oneida Davis, Wasson; Waneda Davis, and Dora Davis. Evansville; Wilma, Eldon and Elder Davis at home.
He was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Davis and was a brother of Wilburn Davis and James Davis, Harrisburg; Harley Davis, Eldorado; Walter Davis, Big Ridge; Charles Davis, Anna, and Mrs. Charles Berry, Detroit. Mrs. T. D. Morton, Marmaduke, Ark., a niece, was reared in the same home and was always loved as a sister by the sons and daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Davis.
His body, which was taken to the Martin funeral home at Eldorado, has been returned to the
residence to lie in state and his funeral will be held Monday at 3 p. m. at Wasson Baptist church.
The Rev. H. T. Starkey will conduct the funeral and burial will be at Wolf Creek cemetery.
