Mary Elizabeth Ahern, 85, of Chariton, formerly of Des Moines, died Dec. 14, 1998, at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center. She is survived by a brother, James J. Ahern, and a sister, Edith Ahern-Matthews, both of Des Moines.
She was cremated and no services are planned. Interment will be at the Grimes Cemetery at a later time.
