Clyde Hammons. Services for Clyde Franklin
Hammons Sr., 86, of Boyle Lane, Junction City, will be 2 p.m.
Sunday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Jimmy Owens.
Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery in Boyle County. He
died Wednesday at his home. Born Aug. 12, 1918, in Boyle
County, he was the son of the late John F. and Gula Whitten
Hammons. He was a truck driver for Watson Paving Co. in
Cocoa, Fla., a farmer and hauled and sold coal for several
years. He also was a Navy veteran of World War II and a
member of McDonald Presbyterian Church. Survivors include
his wife, Virginia Collins Hammons; eight sons, Jack, Jerry,
Glenn, Robert and David Hammons, all of Junction City,
Charles and Raymond Hammons, both of Cocoa, Fla., and
Clyde Hammons Jr. of Rockledge, Fla.; a sister, Adeline
Crowe of Danville; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David
Hammons Jr., James Hammons, Clyde W. Hammons, Jerry
Hammons Jr., John Hammons and Benny Gregory. Visitation
will be after 4 p.m. Saturday. Memorials may go to Heritage
Hospice.
