Note: this memorial updated August 17, 2017 with parent relationship links per edit request.

However, these links are being accepted with some caution. A/o August 17/18, 2017, the following note appears on the bio for the 'father', John Sears:

"JOHN HAD A SON JACOB IT IS THOUGHT THIS SON IS AT MEMORIAL NO 39971913 but his birthdate is different than old notes of John's Jacob."

This link is being made in good faith, but obviously it is possible that these parent relationship links are not accurate. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Because Jacob died in 1862 there is no Iowa death record available for research, and census records for his family would be iffy at best as household names were generally not included until 1850, so there would not be any census records for his parents that could be trusted to name this particular person as their son.

Researchers should use caution with these parent relationship links.

--------------

Husband of Mary Sears, married on May 22, 1838 in Mercer county, Illinois.

Small markers at base of monument are "Father" and "Mother".

-----
Note: of the ten children believed to have been born to Jacob and Mary, son Eli is believed to have been born about 1839 in Illinois and likely died in infancy and buried there (where??). Otherwise, all of the adult children are accounted for with memorials so linked.
