Died in Milo, Bureau County Dec. 28 of old age, Mrs. Hulda, 78 consort of the late Andrew Hunter and mother of Mrs. H.C.Wright of this city.
Died in Milo Township, December 28 Mrs. Huldah Hunter, aged 78 years. 2 months and 14 days. The deceased was born in Wilmington, Windham County, Vermont, where in early life she married Andrew Hunter. In 1846 Mr. & Mrs. Hunter came to Bureau County and settled at Boyd's Grove, where they improved a large farm and continued to reside till death severed their earthly relations. Mrs. Hunter survived the death of her husband 10 months and 2 days. Ag the age of 14 Mrs. Hunter became a Christian and during a long life she enjoyed the comforts of the gospel. Her name was connected with the Congregational church during the whole period of her Christian life. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive her, one having died in infancy. For 30 years the family circle was unbroken and for the last 10 years previous to the father's death, the children have annually on New Years Day visited the parental home. Happy reunion for this family circle. They now live only in memory, but their hallowed recollections are blessings to the bereaved survivors. Four of the children, Maria, Robert, Enoch and Mary reside in the neighborhood of the old home; Hiram resides in Wyanet and Sophia, Mrs. Hiram Wright in Henry. Mrs. Hunter's funeral services were conducted at the Hunter school house by the Rev. WH Hitchcock of the M.E. church.
