In Milo, Bureau County, Feb. 26, of congestion of the lungs, after four days illness, Andrew Hunter, aged 79 yrs 11 months, father of Mrs. Hiram C. Wright of this city.
Local Items - Andrew Hunter, an old resident of Milo, died last week of congestion of the lungs. He was born at Wilmington, Vt., but came from New York state 33 years ago to Illinois, locating on the farm where he has lived up to the time of his death. He leaves an aged wife, and three sons and three daughters, the children all being married and located with a half day's drive of the old homestead. Mr. Hunter had good health up to his last sickness and was a robust man. Mr. Hunter lived to a good old age, and passes away revered and respected by all.
Local news - Long Tree - Death has again visited our neighborhood, and time has taken Andrew Hunter, Sr. He died February 26 with congestion of the lungs. Mr. Hunter was born in Vermont, March 27, 1799. His funeral took place at Seneca Hunter's on February 28, the Rev. Mr. Hitchcock officiating. He leaves a wife who has accompanied him for 57 years of his life and several children to mourn his loss. Mr. Hunter has been a member of the Congregational Church for 59 years.
