MRS. AMANDA MAGEE DIES

Mrs. Amanda Magee, widow of the late Hiram Magee, died at her home near Prentiss Sunday night. Funeral services were conducted from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon Polk, at 9:30 o'clock, Tuesday, by the Rev. Jas. B. Herndon, pastor. Interment was in the Prentiss cemetery. Mrs. Magee was 80 years of age. She was born in Simpson county, the daughter of Isaac Fortenberry. She has lived all her married life in this county where she was highly esteemed. Her husband died many years ago. Mrs. Magee was a member of the Prentiss Baptist church. Surviving are her children, Sylvester Magee, Van Magee, Prentiss; Mrs. D. C. Williams, Columbia; Mrs. Leon Polk, Prentiss; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Thurman, Natchez.

Walden's Funeral Home had charge of the burial rites, Rex Martin in charge.
