Captain Reaves was a member of the 2nd Engineer Combat Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on September 3, 1950. From his daughter Anne Balint: He was originally from Opelika, Alabama. He was the first Opelikan to die in Korea. Captain Reaves was a graduate of Opelika High School and a veterans of World War II in France and Japan. Entered service in 1941. Son of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Reaves of Opelika, Alabama
