Paul W. Hoffman of Eugene, Oregon, died July 24, 2009, of kidney failure. He was 98. No services were held.
He was born March 12, 1911, in Tribune, Kan., to Robert and Stella Sutton Hoffman.
He married Ruby Meyer on May 27, 1946, in Eugene.
Hoffman attended schools in the Goshen area and graduated from Eugene Bible College. He served in the Army in World War II as a medic in a hospital unit. He worked as a carpenter in heavy construction and was an ordained minister in the Assembly of God church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Jim of Sacramento; a sister, Celia Anderson of Eugene; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, James, died previously.
In recognition of his USA AF service in WWII, he was laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif. Arrangements were assisted by the Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. If desired, Gifts of Remembrance in honor of Paul may be made to Eugene Bible College.
Only a few months later, Ruby followed him into eternal life, and was laid to rest with him there.
