Dorothy Mae Affeld, age 82, of Valparaiso, IN passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at Porter Hospital.
She was born August 16, 1926 in Michigan City.
Dorothy was a member of Heritage Lutheran Church in Valparaiso. On August 28, 1943 in Valparaiso she married Vernon Affeld who survives along with her daughter-in-law, Mary Affeld of Valparaiso, seven grandchildren: Angie, Kristie, Laurie, Laura, Brenda, David and Stephanie and seven great grandchildren: Ariana, Emily, Gracie, Braydon, Nicole, Gabrielle and Jenna.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her three children: Susan Kotys in 2001, Dean Affeld in 2003 and Ralph Affeld in 2006.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a committal service will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery on South State Road #2, Valparaiso, Rev. Joseph Ostafinski officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heritage Lutheran Church Building Fund.
