Mrs. Frank Walters died at her home near Norcatur, Kan., Wednesday afternoon, June 11. Her death was very sudden and the news was a great shock to her Hiawatha relatives. Before her marriage Mrs. Walters was Miss Hallie Hicks a daughter of Mrs. J. H. Hicks.


Besides her husband she is survived by 6 children, Ralph, Leonard, Chester, Velma Jane, Virginia and Pauline. The Walters family are former residents of Hiawatha, leaving here about 4 years ago for Norcatur.


The funeral was held at the home of her mother, Mrs. J. H. Hicks 1008 Kickpoo street, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. A. E. Warden. A quartet composed of Mrs. Rex Kathrens, Mrs. F. H. Smith, S. K. McCrary and Floyd Whitcomb sang "Abide With Me" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus." The body bearers were Ralph Heatley, Charlie Jackson, Cloyd Herman, Floyd Whitcomb, Harold Simmons and Wm. Jackson. Burial was made in the Hiawatha cemetery.


The out-of-town people here for the funeral were Wm. Hicks and Ed Schrader, of Hope; Mrs. J. A. Thompson and Miss Tillie Case, of Leavenworth; Mrs. C. H. Thomas, of Kansas City, and Mr. and Mrs. Banner Walters, of El Dorado.


Hallie Hicks was born March 24, 1881, in Robinson, and died June 11, 1919, at Norcatur. She was married June 12, 1901, To Frank Walters.


Besides her husband and 6b children she is survived by her mother, Mrs. J. H. Hicks; 2 sisters, Mrs. C. H. Thomas, of Kansas City, and Mrs. Jesse Berry, of Hiawatha and 4 brothers, Wm. Hicks of Hope; Ralph and Roy Hicks of Weiser, Idaho, and Alvin Hicks of Hiawatha.
