Delores J. "Dee" Webster, 79, of East Peoria passed away at 12:20 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, peacefully at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Nov. 27, 1929, in Peoria to Eli and Edna (Kessler) Stumetz. She married Kenneth E. Webster on Dec. 15, 1947, in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kenneth W. (Ursula) Webster of East Peoria; one son-in-law, Roland Slater of Peoria; one sister, Rosalie Greene of Turloch, Calif.; five brothers, Donald (Evelyn) Stumetz of Richland, Wash., David Stumetz and Daniel Stumetz, both of Peoria, John (Martha) Stumetz of La Habra, Calif., and Phillip Stumetz of Peoria; four grandsons, Jason (Dawn) Webster of High Ridge, Mo., Jerry (Amy) Webster of Manchester, Mo., Justin (Shelley) Slater-Webster of Washburn, Ill., and Joey Slater-Webster of East Peoria; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Sikes, Tyler and Cameron Webster, Chelsea Henley, Casey Webster, Madilynne Slater-Webster, Abigail Webster and J.J. Webster; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Slater; one brother, Edward Stumetz; and two sisters, Marjorie Moore and Betty Johnson.

Dee was a homemaker.

She loved to work in her garden and to decorate her home. She also loved to paint, cook and listen to her favorite country songs.

Her family and her beloved animals were her pride and joy.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.

Dee will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery in East Peoria.
