I know that some had James grandfather William served in the Civil War as a Private in the Confederacy in Virginia. He served under Enlisted in Company B, Mosby's Part. Cavalry Regiment Virginia. Not sure if this is our William.still searching.
After he got out of the war he worked as a Farm Hand.My grandmother Grace Marie Perrin Watts ended up with the sword and her husband John Roy Watts Sr took the sword and cut it down to a knife.I dont know what became of the sword after that. All I know is that the family members kept running between Kentucky and Indiania.I was also told by my father John Roy Watts Jr. that he had Cheynne blood in him that he found the Indians records down in Kentucky or Cherokee North Carolina. For him and Nancy.Nancy was subpose to be Cherokee. And that they had spelled kines with a Q.But I have found many spellings for this one name. Also in the Nicholasville, kentucky when I look at some of his records he couldnot read and sign his name with an x and they spelled his last name Kynes.
Also I was told that James and Nancy are buried in a unmark grave in the Bass Cementery,Mitchell,Lawrance Co,Indiania.
