FUNERAL MRS. WM CLAYTON

Funeral services over the remains of the late Mrs. William Clayton who died yesterday at the family residence on Geneva Hill will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2.

Cemetery record says she died of bladder cancer at age 47 years and 23 days.

Amelia is buried in the same plot as her 5 infant sons, husband, mother and sister, Susan.

Birth date above is taken from her father's civil war pension record. Then there are the census records: In 1860 Amelia was 7; in 1870, she was 16; In 1880 she was 25, In 1900 she was 45, born in Dec 1854; 1910 she was 55 (taken just before she died). Obviously her parents did not keep good records since they were illiterate but I believe the earliest birthdate give of 1854 is correct and her obituary which states she was 66 and her grave record that states she was 47 are really off. As different as her ages are, her mother's were even worse.
