Funeral services Tuesday in the LDS Second ward chapel at 1 p.m., were conducted for Tennie Rozina Van Orman, 86, a longtime Montpelier resident, who died Sunday at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Van Orman was born on January 3, 1883 in Mantua, Utah to John Peter and Caroline Larsen Ipsen. She was married to Abraham Van Orman on October 1, 1903 in the Logan Temple. Mrs. Van Orman was a member of the LDS Church and active in Relief Society. She was also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Her survivors are her husband; sons and daughters, Arthur Van Orman of Montpelier, John Van Orman and Lyle Van Orman, both of Jerome; Mrs. Clifford (Verda) Smith of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Merrill (Pearl) Gunnell of Logan; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother and sisters, Loren Ipsen of Bennington, Mrs. George (Ruth) Stephens of Montpelier, and Mrs. James (Adella) Hansen of Ogden.
John Van Orman offered the family prayer at the mortuary and Mrs. J. F. Spidell played prelude and postlude music.
Don Ipsen gave the invocation followed by a song, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” by Second Ward Singing Mothers; obituary and remarks, Bishop W. D. Arnell; tribute, Mrs. David H. Perkins; vocal duet, “Beyond the Sunset,” Mrs. Walter Hunzeker and Max Haddock; speaker, Byron E. Mumford; a medley of LDS hymns by quartet, Dr. Paul Daines, Ray Larsen, James Olsen, Philip Hulme.
Merrill N. Gunnell dedicated the grave in the Montpelier cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Smith, Frank Gunnell, Charles Andrus, Gordon Ipsen, Ray Stephens and Ralph Stephens. Matthews Mortuary was in charge.
