Hazel Zimmerman Fox, 86, of RD 1, Carmichaels, died at 11 p.m. Thursday Nov. 24, 1983 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital after a serious illness the past five weeks.
Born Oct, 8, 1897 in Whiteley Township, she was the daughter of the late James and Matilda Morris Zimmerman.
Her husband, John L. Fox Sr., died Sept. 5, 1964.
She spent her early life in Whiteley Township and resided in Jefferson Township 58 years. For the past 15 years she lived in Carmichaels.
She was a member of the Fordyce United Methodist Church.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Robert (Rosa) Phillips of RD 1, Carmichaels, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Clark of RD 1, Carmichaels, Mrs. Betty Workman of RD 1, Carmichaels, Mrs. Matilda Carter of RD 1, Carmichaels, Mrs. Reynold (Thelma) Fletcher of Gaithersburg, Md. and Mrs. Charles (Phyllis) Thomas of Cantonsville, Md.; five sons, Marvy L. Fox of Thoroughfare, N.J., James A. Fox of Moundsville, W. Va., John L. Fox Jr. of RD 1, Carmichaels, Donald P. Fox of Lakewood, Ohio and Ronald R. Fox of Bedford Heights, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Pratt of RD 6, Waynesburg and Mrs. Eliza Fox of Uniontown; two brothers, Robert H. Zimmerman of RD 2, Waynesburg and Albert R. Zimmerman of Naples, Fla.; 31 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allen T. Fox and two great-grandchildren, Debra Makel and Tiffany Carter.
