He was born February 11, 1860, son of the late John and Lucy Mahan Keithley, and was the eldest of seven children. He was married to Miss Mae Butts on January 14, 1893. To this union, one daughter was born, Mrs. John Brink of Centralia. Mrs. Keithley died in 1901. In 1904, Mr. Keithley married Miss Emma Dinwiddie, who survives.
He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Winn, and one brother, John Keithley, both of Sturgeon; three grandchildren, Mrs. Glen Burson of Centralia, Mrs. Earl Faucett of Columbia and Mrs. Coats of Illinois; and seven great-grandchildren.
For a number of years, Mr. Keithley was salesman for the Winscott General Merchandise Store and helped in the undertaking establishment. For fourteen years, Mr. Keithley was associated with the Perry Oil Co., and until recently was a stockholder and director of the Sturgeon State Bank. He was a member of the Southern Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home here in Sturgeon on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Edgar Herendon of Centralia, with burial in the Centralia Cemetery." Sturgeon Missouri Leader (Sturgeon, Missouri), January 30, 1948
