OBIT: The Slater Rustler, Thursday, Jan. 20, 1916:

Mrs. Grace Justine Adams, 33 years old, died at her home in Springfield, Mo., January 14. Mrs. Adams was not at home at the time of his wife's death as he had come to Slater to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Nicely, and Mrs. Adams died before his return. The body was brought to Slater Saturday night and the funeral services were held at the home of her father, Will Ballew, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. R.M. Campbell, pastor of the Christian Church. Burial was in the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams mother was with her at the time of her death and accompanied the body to Slater. Deceased came to Slater when about 12 years old and was a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by her husband and four children: Beulah, Carl, Opal and Verda."

2ND OBIT: Jan 15 1916 Springfield Republican Mo.:
"Mrs. Grace Adams aged 33 years died Friday morning at her home 412 West Lynn street from tuberculosis. The decedent is survived by a husband, A. Adams, a Frisco engineer and four children, Eula (sic Beulah), age 11, Opal, age 11, Carl age 9 and Verda age 4.
Mr. Adams recently was called to Slater, Mo. where he attended the funeral of his sister, Miss Rosa Adams who was buried Tuesday.
Funeral arrangements will not be completed until word is received from Mr. Adams, who is expected to arrive home this morning. The body of Mrs. Adams was prepared for burial by Undertaker J. W. Klingner. It is possible that the interment will be at Slater."

Mr. Arthur Adams and Miss Grace Ballew were married last Sunday afternoon at the residence of the bride's parents in Slater. Elder R.L. Wilson officiating. The groom, who formerly lived in Saline County, is a resident of Springfield, Mo. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ballew. Only a few friends and relatives were present to witness the ceremony and extend congratulations."
