MRS. ANNA E. PIKE

WEST LIBERTY – Mrs. Anna E. Pike, a lifetime resident of the Nichols and West Liberty area, died Sunday at Oakwood Nursing, Muscatine, following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pike, 78, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the West Liberty United Methodist church. Rev. Lawrence Carlton will officiate.
Interment will be at the Nichols cemetery. Visitation will begin this evening at the Snider Funeral Home, West Liberty.

Mrs. Pike was born Aug. 27, 1895 in Muscatine, the daughter of William and Katherine Benninger.
She married Ira Pike, Feb. 16, 1916 in Muscatine.
The couple operated a grocery store in Nichols for 20 years before moving to West Liberty.

Surviving are a son, Irvin, West Liberty;
two daughters, Mrs. Edmund (Lou) Winfield, West Liberty
; and Mrs. Fred (Betty) Tyler, Muscatine;

two sisters,
Mrs. Joe Ziegenhorn and Mrs. Warren Martin, both of Muscatine; and two brothers,;
George Benninger Muscatine; and Albert Benninger, Lyons, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
