VIOLET M. CLAUSSEN, 81, died Friday at Shepherd of the Hill, Kendallville. Born in Chicago, she retired in 1986 as owner and operator of Vi's Beauty Shop.

Surviving are her husband, Richard D.; two sons, Richard of Wolcottville and Jeffrey of Three Rivers, Mich.; three sisters, Rose Strayer of LaGrange, Iris Arrasmith of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and June Albertson of West Hill, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Services at 11 a.m. Monday at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville. Calling 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
