Deceased Name: Theodore (Ted) Wayne Hanson, 65

Theodore "Ted" Wayne Hanson, 65, of International Falls died Saturday evening October 1, 2005 at his home surrounded by his family.
Ted was born April 26, 1940 in Detroit Lakes and grew up outside Lake Park, Minn. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lake Park Lutheran Church and graduated from Lake Park High School. Ted served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Northern Italy. While in the services he enjoyed traveling through Europe. After being honorably discharged, he started working for the Ottertail Power Co. in Fergus Falls, Minn.
On June 4, 1965, Ted was united in marriage to the former Marlys Klemetson. In 1965, Ted and Marlys moved to International Falls where Ted started working for the local phone company. He retired after 35 years of service as a Communication Technician in 2000.
Ted loved hunting, fishing, trapping, doing yard work, spending time at his shacks, traveling, and spending time with his family and five grandchildren. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Moose Club, the American Legion, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and the Rainy Lake Sport Fishing Club.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents Theodore H. Mabel (Strom) Hanson.
He is survived by his wife Marlys Hanson of International Falls, two sons , Steven (Wendy) Hanson of International Falls and Troy (Angie) Hanson of Elk River, Minn., five grandchildren, Regan, Reid, Garrett, Carter and Ella. A brother Curtis (Karen) Hanson of Moorhead, and a sister Gloria Johnson of Bagley, Minn.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral services on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls. There will be full military rites.
Interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery, Lake Park, Minn.
The family would prefer memorials to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Koochiching Hospice in Ted's memory.
