The Becker County Historical Society reports that Michael's Naturalization Records show his last name was Janson before coming to America. This must have been a version of Johannesen. Note that those papers list Charles Janson.
There was a Carlo Inglia born to Johan Olsen (not Johannes) and Karen in Royken 6/9/1849. Is there a connection? The Norwegian Emigration Center implies in their letter July 22, 1998, reference #98.701, that this is not the same as Michael, since they did find Michael Johannesen born 10/11/1849 and baptized 11/18/1849 with parents listed as Johannes Olsen and Karen Johanne Olsdatter living on farm Gunnerudeie in the church records from Royken.
