Mrs. Rhoda Robinson Gainey, 87, of Supply, NC, died Friday, December 24, 2004, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Born in Brunswick County, on January 20, 1917, she was a daughter of the late R. P. and Lillie Reeves Robinson. She was a charter member of Ocean View Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Gainey was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Gainey; and a grandson, David Gainey.
Survivors include a son, Peter O. Gainey and wife Nancy Long of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, R.P. Robinson and wife Patsy of Supply; a sister, Alma Roberts of Supply; a step-grandson, Lt. Col. Ronnie Long and wife Christine of Ft. Stewart, GA; step-great-grandchildren, Allyson and Eric Long of Ft. Stewart, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2004, in the Ocean View Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church by The Reverend R .C. Dixon. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.
