SCOTT
- At Woodville, on Friday, Sept. 18, 1925, Charles Guillum, beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Scott; aged 68 years.

* A very old and highly respected resident of Woodville in the person of Mr Charles Guillum Scott, passed away yesterday at the age of 68 years. Born in Bombay, India, the third son of General John Guillum Scott, the deceased gentleman came to New Zealand 47 years ago, landing in Lyttelton as a young man. Thirty-three years ago Mr Scott took up his residence in Woodville and resided there till his death. He was keenly interested in all that pertained to the welfare of the town and took a prominent part in civic affairs, having been a member of the Borough Council and on one occasion a candidate for the Mayoralty. Mr Scott was also captain of the Woodville Fire Brigade for a period. His jovial and kindly disposition made him popular with all classes of the community and hid death will be sincerely regretted by the people of Woodville. A widow, two sons and three daughters are left to mourn their loss.

* The friends of the late Charles Guillum Scott are respectfully requested to attend his funeral, which will leave his late residence, No. 12 McLean Street, Woodville, to-morrow (Sunday, September 20) at 2 p.m. for the Woodville Cemetery. - Ernest Grinlinton, Funeral Furnisher

Charles is buried witha 3 month old granddaughter, Mabel Ruth 'Ruthie' Scott and the Guillum is not a hyphenated name for her. Maybe Charles's second name was Guillum and he was named after ancestors Guillum-Scott
