Claimed By Death
Mrs. Eva Dell Watkins, 82, one mile north of Mt. Cory, died at 7a.m. Saturday at her home of a complication of diseases. She had been ill for seven months and bedfast for seven weeks.
A native of Allen county, she was born Dec. 6, 1869, a daughter of James H. and Mary M. Goldsmith Williams. She came to this county from Henry county.
She was married to Clement Watkins on April 15, 1884, and he preceded her in death.
Eight of their nine children survive. They are; Grover, Fostoria; Burr and Chellious, Green Springs; Mrs. Oakel Winkle, 152 Larkins street; Mrs. Audrey Reese, Deshler; Mrs. Duddgah Codner, 216 George street; and Mrs. Mary Priebe, Mt. Cory. One child died in infancy.
Brothers and sisters surviving are; Mrs. Nola Kolb, Lima; C.A. Williams, Dundee, Mich.; Glen Williams, Mt. Cory; two half sisters, Theresia Curtis, Findlay, and Mrs. Maude Wilcox, Hollywood, Calif. One sister, Mrs. Clara Bogart, and two brothers, Bert and Arthur, preceded her in death.
There are 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Pleasant View EUB church for many years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Coldren funeral home, the Rev. O.C. Metzger officiating. Burial will be in Clymer cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.
