He came from Salinas, Monterey County, CA to Ventura, Ventura County, CA in 1878, and finally settled in Los Olivas,Santa Barbara County, CA in 1905.

He was said to the an undertaker because he would help family and friends prepare their loved ones for burial.

He was the father of Birdie Lorraine Summers Hanson, Sonie (Zona) Belle Summers Weston Woods Ketelsen, George (Georgie) Lutton Summers, and Laura Ann Summers.

His grandson Larry LeRoy Weston loved him very much and loved his afternoon shot-glass of "beer" ( mostly water) his Grandpa Lonnie gave to him. Larry was his constant companion.
