Gospel Herald - Volume XLVII , Number 2 - January 12, 1954 --- page 47 Ropp, Menno B., son of the late John and Annie (Bellar) Ropp, was born in Perth Co., Ont., April 16, 1880*; passed away suddenly of a heart attack, Nov. 12, 1953, while on his way to Kitchener, Ont., to visit his sister who was a patient at the K. and W. Hospital ; aged 64 y. 6 m. 27 d. He confessed Christ as his personal Saviour in his youth and united with the A. M. congregation at Poole, later transferring his membership to the East Zorra Church where he served faithfully for many years. In 1914 he was united in marriage to Annie Schlegel (nee Yantzi) who survives him. Also surviving him are the following children (Annie Mae-Mrs. Almon Roth and Frieda-Mrs. Wilmer Baechler, both of South Weasthope; Gloyd, Ailsa Craig, Ont.; Neil, Wilmot, Ont.; Irma-Mrs. Stanley Lichiti and Ada-Mrs. Christ Bender, both of East Zorra), 5 stepchildren (Selna-Mrs. Ed. Brenneman; Barbara-Mrs. Joe Zehr, Edna-Mrs. Henry Schumn, and Omer and Ezra Schlegel, all of East Zorra), 4 brothers and 4 sisters (Sam, Peter, Chris, William, Sarah-Mrs. Peter Brunk, Anna-Mrs. John Brunk, Emma-Mrs. Noah Steckley, and Susanna-Mrs. J. Johnson), and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held Nov. 16 at the Sixteenth Line A. M. Church with Joel Schwartzentruber and Wilfred Schlegel officiating. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
