Eunice Ellen Pringle Sartain, 90, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at a local hospital.

A family visitation was held on Sunday, December 14, 2008 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Jodie Weeks and Eddie Howard of Southgate Church of Christ officiating. Burial followed in the Pringle Family Plot in Fairmount Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Eunice was born in Miami, FL on May 20, 1918 to W.L. and Ora Vivian (Underwood) Pringle. She worked for the State of Texas at the State School in Carlsbad. Eunice married Roy Sartain in San Angelo on July 19, 1935 and they were married nearly 65 years. Roy and Eunice lived in Mertzon, TX from 1945-1968. They were both faithful members of Southgate Church of Christ. Roy passed away on April 15, 2000.

Eunice was preceded in death by her grandson Karl Roy Sartain; granddaughter Tina Murphy; two brothers Robert Pringle and Earl Pringle; two sisters Doris Tate and Mary White.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Lloyd and husband, Bill of Knickerbocker; son, Melvin Sartain and wife, Nita of Liberty Hill, TX; son, Vernon Sartain and wife, Gale of San Angelo; son Stanley Sartain and wife, Donnette of Midland; grandchildren; Sylvia McDaniel and husband, Don of Lewisville, TX; Deborah Gonzales and husband, Henry of Knickerbocker; David Sartain and wife, Pam of Leander, TX; Stephen Sartain and wife, Carrie of Round Rock, TX; Cathleen Miller and husband, Charles of Rosenberg, TX; Dennis Sartain and wife, Teri of San Angelo; Carey Sartain and wife, Debbie of San Angelo; Craig and wife, DeAnne of Lawrenceville, GA; Danny Sartain and wife, Regina of Midland; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Burl Pringle and wife Carlene of Carlsbad and a sister, Juanell Robertson and husband, Red of San Angelo; with numerous nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Rhoda Bluford.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, David Sartain, Stephen Sartain, Dennis Sartain, Carey Sartain, Craig Sartain and Danny Sartain.

Eunice being the first girl born in the family was called sister and the nick name stuck. She was always known by her many nieces and nephews as 'Aunt Sis'. Aunt Sis was the best cook when it came to her fried chicken!!
