Helen Andelin, 89, Pierce City, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, on the family farm in Pierce City.
She was born May 22, 1920, at Mesa, Ariz., to Herbert Alonzo Berry and Anna May Whiting. She attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah.
She was the author of "Fascinating Womanhood," completed in 1963, a text on marriage advocating a woman's use of feminine traits to awaken the love of her husband.
She received extensive media coverage, including Larry King Live and Barbara Walters appearances.
Her husband, Aubrey Andelin, died June 29, 1999.
Survivors include eight children, Paul Andelin, Aurora, Lane Andelin, Brian Andelin, Dixie Forsyth, Kristine Hales, John Andelin, Virginia Leavitt and Merilee Saunders; one brother, F. Dean Berry, Los Angeles, Calif.; 61 grandchildren; and 101 great-grandchildren.
Services were Thursday, June 18, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Monett. Burial was in the family cemetery at Pierce City, under direction of Lakin Funeral Home, Pierce City.
