Rose Thompson Funeral Services

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah (Rose) Thompson, 75, were held Saturday, Oct. 17, in the LDS Stake House with Bishop Harris Asay Officiating.

Mrs. Thompson died Wednesday, Oct. 14, in North Big Horn hospital of cancer.

The First and Second Wards Singing Mothers sang "O My Father, " conducted by Elvira Tippetts and accompanied by Janis Tippetts. Glenn Butler rendered the opening prayer. The obituary was read by Ruth House after which Art and Scott Welch sang "Beyond the Sunset, " accompanied by Kathy Winterholler. The sermon was given by Arthur Keeley. The closing song, "Sometime We'll Understand, was sung by the Singing Mothers and the closing prayer was given by Wilford Jones.

Mrs. Thompson was born July 28, 1889 at Mount Carmel, Utah, the daughter of Francis Riley Owen and Annie Allphin Owen.

She married George Thompson Apr. 1, 1907 in Panguitch, Utah, where two of their children were born. In 1912 they moved to Lovell, where two other children were born. She was a member of the LDS church.

Survivors include her widower of Lovell; one son, Mel of Manderson; three daughters, Leneta Asay and Mae Averett, both of Lovell and Clara Hunt of Billings; one brother, John Owen of Lovell; one sister, Mrs. Ella Hunt of Pueblo, Colo.; a half-brother, Leo Johnson of Santa Ana, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Interment was at the Lovell cemetery with Bishop Harris Asay dedicating the grave. Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thomposn was born July 28, 1889 at Mt. Carmel, Utah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Rigby Owen. She married to George M. Thompson Apr. 1, 1907 at Panguytch, Utah.

Survivors include her widower; one son, Melburn G. of Manderson; three daughters, Mrs. Leneta Asay and Mrs. May Averett of Lovell and Mrs. Clara Hunt of Billings; one brother, Johnny Owen of Lovell; one sister, Mrs. Ella Hunt of Pueblo, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the LDS chapel Saturday at 10 a.m. with Bishop Harris Asay officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell cemetery with Haskell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
