Mrs. Brumfield was a member of First Christian Church of Waynesboro and a member of the Ladies Bible Class of the church. She was the widow of Henry David Brumfield, who died in September 1939.
She was born Jan. 18, 1895, in Athens, W. Va., a daughter of the late McHenry and Julianne Blankenship Belcher.
She is survived by one son, James W. Brumfield of New Hope; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Demmie) Layne of Waynesboro, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Layne of Fishersville and Mrs. G. F. (Betty) Straughen of Hampton; also 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The body will remain at Etter Funeral Home and funeral arrangements will be announced.

A funeral service for Mrs. Dale Brumfield, 75, of 216 Du Pont Blvd., who died Thursday in Waynesboro Community Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church, conducted by Robert P. Pinchot. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the Etter Funeral Home.
The active pallbearers will be Bennett R. Bradley, Mike Ditcon, Clyde Shearer, Jessie Robinson, Hersey Fitzgerald, W. D. Henderson, Isaac Parr and Dewey Coffey Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Layne, Benjamin Layne, Curtis Layne, Fred Lotts, the Rev. Joseph Lotts, Ralph Baker, Russell Price, James McGrath, Eugene Shaver, Paul Stoneburner, Leonard Kline, James Curd, Earl Keen, Ralph Dameron, A. Philip Thompson, Dr. B. K. Weems, James Bleasdale, Alfred B. Johnson and members of the Adult Bible Class and the Ladies Bible Class of First Christian Church.
