EDWARD PLATE DIES AT AGE 72
Edward Plate, 72, of 719 North 23rd St., died at 6:30 am today in the Missouri Pacific Hospital where he had been a patient 10 days. He had been ill two years. Services will be conducted by lodge No. 504 and Rev. J. B. Nance, pastor of the first Christian church, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Kurrus chapel.
A native of Macomb, Mr. Plate lived here most of his life. Four years ago he retired as a railroad engineer after 50 years with the Terminal Railroad. He was a member of East St. Louis Lodge No. 504, A.F. & A. M., Ainad Shrine, Mississippi Valley consistory, Queen City chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.
Mr. Plate is survived by his wife, Minnie; a son Homer, of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters Miss Juanita Plate, East St. Louis, and Mrs. Leonora Spicer, Kalamazoo, Mich.; a sister Mrs. Lizzie Cook, Macomb, Ill., and three grandchildren.
