N. H. Parris, an aged citizen of the Braggadocio neighborhood, a resident on the farm of Miss Mattie Walker about a mile from that town, passed away last Saturday, due to a stroke of paralysis suffered about a week prior. The body was interred next day at the cemetery at Hayti, following funeral services at the home. Mr. Parris, who was past 73 years of age, is survived by the widow and nine children, five of them by a former marriage. Four yet remain at home, two adult daughters and two small sons, the others all being married and located in homes of their own at various localities. The deceased had lived in this county for sixteen years past and for the last three years had been in charge of the Walker farm.

He was born in Gilmer Co. GA to Robert Parris and Lovina Tucker Parris. His father was wounded in 1864, and later died at Kingston Hosp in GA. His mother died a short time later. The 1870 census shows him in the HH of George Petty. On 28 Jan 1977, he married Philisha Weems in Dickson Co. TN. She died 21 Jul 1889. To this marriage 6 children were born. Infant 13 Dec 1877-13 Dec 1877; Dillard Jackson, Clara Palestine, Genie Isabell, Julia Azalee, and Martha (?) d. 1889.
In Jul 1891, in Centerville (probably), Hickman Co. TN, he married Martha E. Arnold. She died 10 Aug 1901. To this marriage was born 4 children: William Henry, Pearl Atlantic, 1895-1912, Emily, and an infant who died 9 Aug 1901.
In Jul 1904, he married Martha Elizabeth Capley. To this marriage was born 4 children: Beulah, Martha, Roscoe Adolphus, Leonard Lawrence.
He died in Braggadocia MO.
