The daughter of M. E. Edwards and Sallie Harrison, she married William M. Engesser on November 6, 1858 in Chambers County, Alabama and they had at least seven children together: Robert (b-1867), Elizabeth Mary (b-1869), Joseph (b-1871), Frances M. "Sallie" (b-1873 m-Shide), Ella N. (b-1875), Leonard J. (b-1877) and Emma (b-1879).
