Kenneth "Bill" Kimpel, 81, Hicksville, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio.

He was born on February 14, 1928, in Edgerton, Ohio, the son of Edward and Gladys (Upp) Kimpel. He married Donna Beckwith on January 24, 1951. She preceded him in death in 2007. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving our country in World War II. He was an employee at Dana Corporation, Fort Wayne, for 39 years, retiring in 1987.

He is survived by five sons, David (Danna) of Hicksville, Gary (Patti) of Harlan, Ind., Rick (Darlene) and Kenny (Kim), both of Hicksville, and Joe, Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois James, Hicksville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; and 10 siblings and three half siblings.

Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Larry Weller officiating. Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Private burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
