Mrs. Eugene G. Carroll, age 84, a lifelong resident of Wabasha died early Saturday, March 5 of a heart condition at St. Mary’s Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week.

The former Theresa C. Grass, she was born Sept. 11, 1893, in Wabasha, and she married Eugene Carroll, on Sept. 3, 1913 at the St. Felix Catholic Church here. She was a member of the St. Felix Church council and a charter member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary. Mr. Carroll, who survives, was an engineer with the Milwaukee Railroad for 51 years until he retired in 1959.

Besides her widower she is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Margaret Binner, Mrs. Lloyd (Caroline) Arnold, Mrs. Laverne (Eileen) Beatty, and Mrs. Jack (Margaret) Balow, all of Wabasha, Mrs. Louis (Louise) LaTour of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Nathan (Eleanor) Titus of Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene P. Carroll, three brothers and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 10:30 o’clock Monday at St. Felix Church with the Rev. Edgar Schaefer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The VFW Auxiliary conducted graveside services.

Pallbearers were Bruce, Dennis, Steven, Timothy, and Peter Carroll and Lloyd Arnold.
