She was born December 7, 1901 in Kinwood, MO, the daughter of John Jacob Albert and Edna Viola Spurgeon Mayer.
She married Oma Ray White in 1921 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Harold Dean White; four sisters, Dula Allphin, Ollie Morton, Madge Fulton, and Viola Schrage; three brothers, Penman Mayer, Albert Mayer and Stephen Mayer; her in-laws, Samuel and Sarah Ann Parsons White; eight brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; two sons-in-law, Harold and Norman Brammer; one granddaughter, Janice Hunziker; and two great-grandsons, Travis Hathaway and Brian Huppert.
She was of the Baptist faith and joined the church as a young girl. She attended schools in Kinwood, Franklin and Claysville, MO and at the age of 14 went to work in Jefferson City, making saddles for the Army during the First World War. While a young lady, her folks moved to Medill, MO, where she worked in Cold Storage. She also worked at Irwin Phillips and Sheller Globe in Keokuk, IA. She ran White's Market in Alexandria, MO after her retirement and also helped her sons run fireworks stands. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of Medill, MO. "Marie" was a devout Christian and loved being with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, her garden, flowers, trees, and just being alive. She was also an avid Cardinal fan.
Funeral services were held February 18, 2003 at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO, with Rev. Eugene Spurgeon officiating. Cheryl Brammer was pianist with special music by Cheryl Brammer and Deborah Dienst and congregational singing and a recorded selection. Pallbearers were Spencer Brammer, Mark Day, Mike Day, Brenda Derrick, Michele Drummond, and Scott Hunziker. Burial was in Ashton Cemetery. Memorials were suggested to the Ashton Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
