Mother of city resident dies

Mrs. Cecil Bayman, who had resided the past three years at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. George Litchfield, 128 South Fourth Street, Decatur, died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Adams county memorial hospital where she had been admitted three weeks earlier, She was 86.

Mrs. Bayman was born May 16, 1887 in Kosciusko county, the daughter of George and Carrie Hathaway-Kyler who preceded her in death. She was married April 2, 1908 to Roy Bayman of South Whitely and he preceded her in death in 1966.

She was a member of Christian Church in South Whitely.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Carter of Columbia City, Mrs. Georgia Secrist of Columbia City and Mrs. George (Virginia) Litchfield of Decatur; two sons, Robert of Houston, Tex., and Colby of South Whitley; one brother, Garth Kyler of South Whitely; and 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Miller Mortuary in South Whitley, with burial to follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary Saturday afternoon and evening.
