AUGUSTA, Ga.- Ms. Carrie Corinne Elkins, age 81, of Augusta entered into rest Saturday, May 29, 2004, at her home. Ms. Elkins resided in Augusta her entire life. She was a member of Mann Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of The Gleaners Sunday school Class. Ms. Elkins was also a member of Tubman High School Alumni Association and United Methodist Women. Ms. Elkins had worked as a loan officer for Bank of America before she retired. She was a loving and sweet lady and will be missed. Funeral Services will be 3 p.m., Monday, May 31, 2004, at Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Harvey Boyd, Rev. C W Edwards, Rev. Tom Compton, and Rev. Karon Compton officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The Gleaners Sunday school Class members will be honorary pallbearers. Survivors include a sister, Martha Sara Elkins of Augusta and three cousins, Frances Rudisail, Edna Boney, and Patrick Dorn. She was preceded in death by a sister; Elizabeth Elkins Henderson. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 30, 2004, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel.
