Mrs. Sarah Chappell died at her home in Holt Township Taylor County, Iowa, Thursday, February 10, 1916. Funeral services were held at the Iveyville M. E. Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. A. Nail and interment was made in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
Sarah Gill was born near Plattsville, Wisconsin, December 14, 1857. She grew to womanhood in the place of her birth and was there married to Alfred Pierce Chappell. Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Chappell purchased the farm in Taylor County, where Mrs. Chappell passed away as stated above. With the exception of a few years residence in Corning, She had resided continuously on the farm. To Mr. and Mrs. Chappell four children were born, three of whom survive this mother. The children are Frank Chappell, Mrs. Nellie Naven, and Mrs. Rhoda Boller, all residing in the home vicinity. Mrs. Mabel Kempton died March 15, 1915. Beside the children, Mrs. Chappell is survived by seven grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Many friends unite in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
