He died Friday, July 29, 1994 in Mesa. Mr. Black, a preschool owner and operator, was born in Xenia, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Kathie Nelson and Virginia Mohler; brothers, Robert and William and five grandchildren.

Anniversary Fete Preceded Move..
Newcomers to Tempe, Mr. and Mrs. George Black , celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary prior to leaving their former hometown of Thornville, Ohio, to make the trek to Arizona.
The Blacks took up permanent residence here at 2150 East Palmcroft Drive as of September 1, after arriving in the Valley of the Sun on August 20. Mrs. Black, who has been with State Farm Insurance Companies for the past 10 years, will be working in the new State Farm Sundland office in Tempe.
Mr. Black was formerly employed with Rockwell Standard Corp. in Ohio.
The couple were feted at a dinner in their honor in Thornville on August 18. They were married August 18, 1946 in Newark, Ohio.
